It was a sizzling 100 degrees today. Ugh. Friday night was pretty epic. Introduction of the Black Dress Mafia. Laura, Devon, Addie, Jemma and I all went out to the Oxford in black dress and stunting some nice heels. Well, except Jemma cause she has a busted ankle. Either way, we danced, we drank, we had a great night. This morning I woke up sooo hot and could not fall back asleep. I had kitchen duty today too. All students have kitchen duty sometime during the semester. Luckily mine was the lunch time (11:30 AM) and not breakfast (8:30 AM). Three other students worked had duty with me. We had to serve lunch to everyone, wash dishes, clean tables, set out food and sweep up. It was fun for about 5 minutes. Being in the kitchen was super hot and we were there until 2PM. But I've done it and it's over. After kitchen duty, I did some reading in the library and then got ready to go into town.
By opening a bank account here I was entered into a contest to win tickets to Fringe Festival. The Fringe is a big festival they have here in Adelaide that has comedians, concerts, and shows. Well I won!! I won two free tickets to see Arj Barker, a US comedian, for tonight. So I took Tony with me and we got dressed up and headed into the city. The Fringe Festival was interesting, a lot of "different" people. Some cross dressers and some carnies. The show was hilarious though. I was laughing so hard. It was really great. On the walk back to St. Mark's we saw fireworks from the other festival going on, womadelaide which is a world music art and dance festival. It was pretty awesome night. After we got back a bunch of us just laid out on the lawn looking at stars and just talking the night away. I'm pretty tired and it's still really hot at 11:50 PM so I reckon I'll sleep in the library tonight because it's the only place where there is AC. Tomorrow we have a tennis tournament against other colleges starting at 8AM and I really want to watch it. It's going to be another hot day, 101 tomorrow. WOOOO summer time in Australia.
